✨ The Top 7 Joy-Infused Experiences in Bhutan
A Women’s Quest Retreat for Body, Heart, and Spirit
Bhutan isn’t just a country—it’s a feeling. A vibration. A sacred pause in the rush of life. From the moment you arrive, the mountains seem to whisper, “Slow down. Breathe. You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.”

This October 22–November 1, join me (Colleen Cannon!) on a once-in-a-lifetime journey where you’ll move your body, awaken your spirit, and reconnect with your joy. We’re staying in cozy Bhutanese hotels, a traditional farmhouse, and finishing at the 5-star Zhiwa Ling Heritage, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World. Here are 7 of the magical moments waiting for you—and the happy molecules they spark:
- 🌈 Ceremonies That Stir the Soul
We’ll begin with a private blessing from a beloved hermit monk, create sacred tsa tsa (miniature stupas), and raise colorful prayer flags to carry your intentions into the wind. You’ll even dress in traditional Bhutanese attire for a vibrant festival of dance, music, and joy.
🌟 These moments connect you to something ancient, powerful, and deeply personal.
- ⛰️ The Iconic Hike to Tiger’s Nest
Perched dramatically on a cliffside high above the Paro Valley, Tiger’s Nest Monastery is Bhutan’s most sacred site—and the hike there is a pilgrimage of the heart. It’s a walk into wonder, into yourself, into the story of your life unfolding.
🌟 Every step is a reminder that you’re stronger than you think and more connected than you know.
- 🧘 Movement & Meditation in Sacred Places
Each day, we’ll begin with gentle yoga and mindfulness, surrounded by mountain views or monastery bells. I’ve been practicing meditation for 40+ years—it’s kept me sane and joyful, and it will restore your energy from the inside out.
🌟 Your body becomes your sanctuary, your breath becomes your compass.
- 🚴 E-Biking Through Phobjikha Valley
Phobjikha is one of Bhutan’s most peaceful and untouched valleys. On E-bikes, we’ll glide through wildflower meadows, pine forests, and storybook farms. It’s quiet, magical, and completely freeing. (You can also choose a normal mt bike)
🌟 There’s something about biking in a place this still—it reminds you how good life can feel.
- 🛶 Rafting the “Mother River”
We’ll float down the gentle Mo Chhu River, winding past rice paddies and monasteries in the lush Punakha Valley. We’ll laugh, soak in the beauty, and have a riverside picnic like locals do.
🌟 Water has a way of washing away what no longer serves you—and leaving space for joy.
- 🍲 Farmhouse Feasts & Cooking with Aum Tshomo
You’ll stay one night in a traditional farmhouse and cook with the beloved Aum Tshomo, a local culinary legend. From spicy chili cheese to crispy treats made with laughter, these are meals made with heart and heritage.
🌟 There’s magic in sharing a kitchen—and a story—with someone halfway around the world.
- 🏯 Temples, Dzongs & Timeless Beauty
From 7th-century temples to massive fortress monasteries called dzongs, each day offers a doorway into Bhutan’s living spirituality. The air is thick with incense, prayer wheels spin, and your heart opens just a little more.
🌟 These places don’t just live in history—they live in you, long after you return home.
