My good friend, local legend, and surf shaman Ismael Araya has taught me so much about riding the waves of life. Ismael almost lost his life and his legs in a motorcycle accident. Ish’s story is heartbreaking and heartwarming. He was in a motorcycle accident over 7 years ago, which nearly took his life. The doctors wanted to amputate his legs, but he kept his faith and said no. Not only is he surviving but he is thriving! Find out how Ismael can be so positive each and every day, even without the full use of his legs. Hear the story of how Ismael, who was paralyzed and in a wheelchair, went on to surf on the CR adaptive surf team and is finally now being able to walk, surf and hug his daughter.
