My 5-minute morning magic routine

What if the secret to changing the world was as simple as feeling alive? Not just alive, but vibrantjoyful, and deeply connected to yourself and the energy of life around you.

Here’s the truth: When you feel good, you do good. You radiate energy, attract positivity, and inspire others to do the same. Wayne Dyer said it best: “There’s nothing more important than that you feel good.”

But how do we feel good when life gets so busy? Let me share a story about a simple practice that transformed my mornings—and my life.  …. We could shorten this or have a blog or something.

Years ago, as a triathlete training in Boulder, Colorado, I discovered the magic of shaking. After my morning runs, I’d often see an elderly Chinese woman in the park, bouncing up and down with the biggest smile on her face. One day, I couldn’t resist—I joined her.

Though we didn’t speak the same language, we shared something more powerful: the language of joy. Together, we’d bounce, shake, and laugh until all the stress in our bodies melted away. For 5 to 30 minutes each day, we shook off tension, opened our energy channels, and let happiness flood in.

This simple ritual sparked what has become my 5-minute morning magic routine:

 Step 1: Shake It Off

Put on your favorite song (Taylor Swift fans, you know what to do!) and let your body move. Shake, bounce, and feel the stress release from your body. Shaking not only clears tension but also opens your energy gates and lets your Qi flow freely.

Step 2: Smile Like You Mean It

While shaking, add a smile—yes, even if it feels silly at first! A smile floods your body with feel-good molecules and fills your central channel with light. Bonus: Try sending an inner smile to every part of your body—your heart, lungs, and even your tailbone.

 Step 3: Breathe in Life

Take three deep breaths. Let them be full and intentional, with each exhale releasing anything heavy. Throughout the day, I pause to breathe: at red lights, while filling my water, or before opening my laptop. It’s a small habit that creates huge shifts in energy and calm.

And here’s a bonus tip for reclaiming your mornings: Let your phone sleep in! Before diving into the digital world, take a few minutes just for you. Shake, smile, breathe, and ground yourself in your own energy.

Because when you start your day feeling alive, you bring that energy into everything you do—and everyone you meet.
