Solar EclipseUnless you have been living under a rock, you have heard that there is a solar eclipse coming. The entire continent will experience a partial eclipse lasting two to three hours. In some areas, there will be a total eclipse when the moon completed blocks the sun — turning the day into night and revealing stars and planets. Before you scurry away, listen.

Welcome this new transformative energy! This is an amazing connection between the Sun, the Moon, Mars in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries.

Prepare to open to the new beginnings. Release negativity. Open to positivity and love — in its most abundant, highest and best. Step out in JOY. Drop any baggage of worry or fear. Travel light on your more enlightened and truer path.
To find out when the eclipse will be visible to you, checkout this city/time calculator: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/
Never watch the eclipse directly — even if it’s a partial eclipse. Your eyes could become damaged. When watching a partial eclipse you must wear eclipse glasses at all times if you want to face the Sun, or use an alternate indirect method. This also applies during a total eclipse up until the time when the Sun is completely and totally blocked.
You may purchase glasses at REI (see link) or shop at your local stores. OR make them yourself from a cereal box. Here’s how:

  • Trace a piece of paper to fit along the bottom of a cereal box
  • Tape the paper inside the box and seal the top
  • Cut rectangular holes on the left and right of the top of the box
  • Cut a piece of aluminum foil to cover the left hole
  • Tape in place
  • Poke a pinhole in the center of the foil
  • With the sun behind you, look into the right hole
  • Watch a projection of the eclipsed sun on the paper inside the box.
